Reserve Square

I stay in an apt called Reserve Square Apartments. It is a nice apt with lotz of desi folk. I share a two bedroom apt with 3 other people . My roommates include Vijay (from Mumbai), Subba Rao (from Guntur,AP) and RaviSudheer (from Hyderabad). Maybe soon i will put up pictures of my roommates. Vijay will be doing his masters in Chemical Engg, Subba Rao will be doing his masters in Electical & Computer Engineering while Ravi Sudheer is in the same program as me Masters in Computer & Information Science.

A few facts about how desi folks live in Reserve Square is that they never lock their doors (well all you thieves out there getting bright ideas i'm sorry to day there is nothing to steal that is even worth the effort coming all the way down here). They also cook in turns, i.e. each person cooks a day (generally in the evening) and it should last till noon next day so they cook a lot. This is what happens on weekdays. On weekends each person is free to cook whatever they want. Most desi students who land here are absolute novices when it comes to cooking and learn the trade after a few weeks of experimentaion (on fellow roommates) and tutorials from senior students.

As far as furniture goes, since the apt are leased unfurnished, the desi folk rely on furniture given away by senior students or other folks moving out who wish to get rid of old furniture by selling it at rock bottom prices.

Coming back to Reserve Square Apts, it is located in downtown Cleveland. It is 5-10 mts walk to CSU from the apts. It is the primary location for desi students (Chester Fields being the other) due to its proximity. As luck would have it the closest building of CSU is the Monte Ahuja College of Buisness (Buisness Building) where the Computer Science dept is and this is where i will be spending most of my study time.

The first 5 floors of the apt is actually a star hotel known as 'Embassy Suites Hotel'. On the 5th floor is an outdoor tennis court, a fitness centre, swimming pool, gym, sun deck etc. The building is divided into two wings east and west. I stay on the east side. Many rooms face the lake and are slightly more pricey but the view is good (except that in winter the lake freezes and u cant see nothing).

I guess i bragged enough about the place i stay in. For those of you who wish to contact me personally, here is my contact information.
