Internship at Hewlett-Packard
This page is dedicated to my 4 month long experience at Hewlett-Packard and describes the great time i had there and the wonderful people i met.
As part of our 8 Semester syllabus we are expected to complete a project (optionally for a company and optionally an on-site project). I was extremely fortunate to have got an oppurtunity to do my project for HP at their software lab (Sterling Square) on Lavelle Road. I should thank my classmate Mijesh for this oppurtunity because it was his neighbour Mr.Ramesh who happens to be lab Architect for HP (at Embassy Icon, Cunningham Road) who forwarded our resumes to HR which gave us an oppurtunity to take up the written test. After clearing the test we went through the usual interviews and finally our dream of working in HP came true.
On the first day i got to meet my project manager Mr. Ronanki Ramana Murthy (nicest manager i have ever met) under whom i would be doing a project. He heads two teams namely "TeMIP R&D Team" and "AM-Factory", which work on different areas of the same product known as TeMIP (Telecomunication Management Information Platform). I consider myself extremely fortunate becoz i got to work with both teams since although i was on the 'TeMIP R&D Team', i did my project for 'AM-Factory' people.
For obvious reasons i cannot reveal too much about my project which was titled "Generic ASCII Access Module for HP OpenView TeMIP". You can however read an abstract of the project [Abstract].
