Cuisine to Relish
Over the past week i was lucky enough to dine twice at Samarkand, an up market restaurant serving North West Frontier Cuisine. Apparently the first of its kind restaurant in Bangalore, Samarkand has already become the dine-out choice of the discerning. The cuisine and the ambience are designed to transport you to the exotic lands of Mangolia, Afghanistan and Samarkand. Their veg platter (though pricy) which is a plate of vegetables cooked in a tandoor is simply divine.
From my understanding, Samarkand is one of the many fine dining restaurants run by B J N Hotels Ltd. The B J N Group has a diverse product mix, ranging from fine dining restaurants, to a 'desi' eatery, from an English pub to a Mediterranean lounge, with cuisines varying from Oriental to North West Frontier, from traditional Tandoor to Global Cuisine.
At the time of writing, the restaurants they run are Aromas of China - Cantonese, and Shanghai CuisinesSamarkand - North West Frontier CuisineHypnos - A Mediterranean LoungeAngeethi - Typical Punjabi and TandooriBombay House - Desi EateryIndi Joe - All day DinerBombay Post - A fine dining Indian restaurantSahib Sindh SUltan - Culinary traditions during the British RajFirangi Pani - Authentic Victorian surroundings.I'm certainly looking forward to more such restaurants from the B J N Group.I haven't been able to check out each of them but I would highly recommend Samarkand and the others mentioned above !!!
