Rock And Roll Hall of Fame

One of the fun things we get to do at Hyland is to take customers, resellers and end users who come in for training classes out for entertainment during the week when they are here. It was one such opportunity (my first) that i got this wednesday when we took a System-Admin class to the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and then for beverages and food at Rock Bottom Brewery.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and MuseumThe Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum is a museum and institution in Cleveland, Ohio, United States, dedicated, as the name suggests, to recording the history of some of the best-known and most influential rock and roll performers, producers, and other people who have in some major way influenced the industry.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum was designed to express the dynamic music it commemorates and to serve as an emblem of the city that introduced the term "Rock and Roll". The building provides a center of entertainment and learning, celebrating urban life and contemporary culture. It is even described as

"nationally significant center of entertainment, education and culture."

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was created in 1983. The museum opened on September 2, 1995 in a building designed by I. M. Pei. After discussions of a location site, including along the Cuyahoga River, it was decided to be built on the shore of Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland just east of Cleveland Browns Stadium and the Great Lakes Science Center. The city lobbied to be chosen because one-time Cleveland disc jockey Alan Freed is widely credited with promoting the new genre (and the term) of "rock and roll". After a petition drive that was signed by 600,000 fans favoring Cleveland, and a USA Today poll which Cleveland won by 100,000 votes, the hall of fame board voted to site the museum in Cleveland.

The museum documents the entire history of rock and roll, regardless of induction status. Hall of Fame inductees are honored in a special exhibit inside the museum's spire.

Rock Bottom BreweryRock Bottom built its foundation on a tradition of fresh, handcrafted beers and a diverse menu that make up the cornerstones of the 29 Rock Bottom locations across the United States. In cleveland it is located in The Powerhouse on the West Bank.Rock Bottom Brewery features a wide selection of finely crafted brews, a few of which will blow your taste buds out of the watery beer you are used to drinking. Rock Bottom serves a full menu of fantastic food so you don't float down the river, and they have an upper loft with pool tables, as well as live music on occasion.
