Pickwick n Frolic
Several months ago in the article about the Rock And Roll hall of fame, i mentioned how we at Hyland get to take customers, resellers and end users who come in for training classes out for entertainment during the week when they are here. Last week i voluntered to go to this multilevel entertainment venue called Pickwick n Frolic.
Even though i lived in downtown for a year and just a couple of blocks away from this place, i never knew this place existed. The fact that it is hidden away in an alley which is fast growing to become a popular haunt with places like House of blues right across from it.
Dining at Pickwick remains a surprisingly good value in spite of the downtown location and upscale atmosphere. But the best part of the night was the Comedy show. The show which lasted a good hour and a half (or maybe more) had me in splits. The comedians that night may not have been famous but still managed to entertain the crowd. Oddly enough, sometimes the initial act in a show is at times more fun than the main act and i'd have to say, this was the case that night was well. There was one suprising moment when they comedian forget that he was performing in cleveland and wrongly referred to it as cincinnatti. I dont blame the comedian because he is probably travelling around the country performing and half the time probably won't remember which city he is in!!!
Pickwick n Frolic gets a nod of approval. I certainly had a good time. I wouldn't mind going there again and again (atleast for the comedy show).
